Thursday Evening, 21 April 1955Mrs. Lawrence Sammons Dies
Mrs. Lawrence E. Sammons, 46, died at the University hospital in Iowa City Thursday morning at 1:40 a.m. after an extended illness.
She was the daughter of Edward and Anna E. (Hass) Gilmer. She was born January 3, 1909 in Henry County, la., southwest of Mt. Pleasant and was graduated from St. Alphonsus High School in 1928. On August 5, 1940 she was united in marriage to Lawrence E. Sammons who survives. Also surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gilmer, Route 3.
Services for Mrs. Sammons will be held Saturday morning at St. Alphonsus Catholic church. Rev. John Manning, pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic church, will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Home cemetery.
Rosary will be said at 8 p m. Friday, April 22, at the Crane Funeral Home.
