Clifford A. Peterson

Clifford A, Peterson, 86, 1129 Linden Ln., Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 1994, at 5:19 p.m. at the Henry County Health Center.

Born March 26, 1907, at Rome, he was the son of Alex and Mary Stephenson Peterson. On April 6, 1935, at Mt. Pleasant, he married Alvena Swailes, who survives.

He farmed in White Oak and Rome communities all his life, moving to Mt. Pleasant in 1988. He loved woodworking and making furniture.

He was a member of the Congregational-Universalist Church.

He is also survived by one daughter, Joyce Peterson, Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Alta Hesseltine, Tempe, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Arthur and Clarence; two sisters, Flora McAllister and Flossie Ruth.

Open visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan 27, at the Beatty Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant. There will be no family visitation.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. at the Beatty Funeral Home. Rev. Charles U. Tweed will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery.

Memorials have been established to the Congregational-Universalist Church and Grant Cemetery.
