Services Held For Thomas Parker

Funeral services were held for Thomas Parker at the Weir-Cookes Funeral Home, Saturday, September 6, with the Reverend James Troxel, pastor of the First Baptist Church officating.

Vocal selections were sung by Miss Carol Oberling accompanied by Dr. Evan Capley at the organ. Bearers were: William Parker, Ralph Williams, Lester Smith, Iliff Smith and Leslie Smith, all nephews of the deceased.

Thomas Barney Parker, retired farmer who lived in Mt. Pleasant was born in Bloomfield in 1868 the son of John W. and Mary (Hedrick) Parker.

He was married November 19, 1890 at Mt. Pleasant to Esta Mae Smith. For the past fifteen years, he has resided in Mt. Pleasant.

Mr. Parker, was predeceased by his wife, two infant children, his parents, five brothers and one sister.

He is survived by a son, Howard of Glendale, Calif. and a daughter, Mrs. Glen (Mary) Suddutch of Philo, Ill. Also surviving him are two brothers, Robert of Mt. Pleasant and Wesley of Monte Vista, Colo. and one sister Mrs. Maude Hoepner of Redwood Falls, Minn.

Interment was in the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.
