Owen Ogg

Owen M. Ogg, 91, of Mount Pleasant, died at 5:55 a.m. Sunday, March 30, 1997, at New London Care Center.

Born Dec. 7, 1905, in Page County, he was the son of Samual and Imo Carder Ogg. On Aug. 5, 1950, he married Agnes L. Smith in Mount Pleasant. She died April 8, 1985.

Mr. Ogg was a 1923 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. He was a truck driver for Weston Storage and Hauling Co. of Mount Pleasant. He worked as a carpenter at Iowa Army Ammunition Plant for several years and worked for Larson Construction Co. of Council Bluffs until his retirement.

He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 58 of Mount Pleasant.

Survivors include one sister, Mary Gallagher of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and one brother-in-law, Miles Rukgaber of Mount Pleasant.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.

Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday at Weir Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.

A graveside service with full military honors will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Chris Myers officiating.
