Dorothy Jean Miller

Dorothy Jean Miller, 71, 1310 Haynes Court, Mt. Pleasant, died at 3:40 a.m. today, Tuesday, July 20, 1999, at Pleasant Manor Care Center, Mt. Pleasant.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 23, at the Congregational-Universalist Church with the Rev. Charles Tweed officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Beatty Funeral Home. There will be no family visitation. Memorials can be made to her church.

Mrs. Miller was born Jan, 16, 1928, at Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of F. C. and Bertha Pitman Grippen. She married Frank J. Miller on June 9, 1951, at Salem. He died Feb. 7, 1990. She was a member of Congregational-Universalist Church, where she was church organist for many years and church treasurer for 21 years. She retired in 1988 after 30 years at the soil conservation office in Mt. Pleasant. She also volunteered at Henry County Health Clinic.

Survivors include her special friend, Maynard Widmer of Mt. Pleasant; and a brother-in-law, Marvin Miller of Tipton. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Harold.
