Evelyn McBeth

Mrs. Melvin (Evelyn) McBeth, 72, 811 E. Madison, Mt. Pleasant, died at 3:50 a.m. Sunday, July 5, 1987, at the Henry County Health Center.

She was born June 20, 1915, in Center Township, Jefferson County, to James M. and Charlotte C. Crew Johnson. On Sept. 14, 1935, at Marengo, she married Melvin L. McBeth who survives.

Mrs. McBeth worked at R.E.C., Wings Bakery and the Fashion First Fabrics, all in Mt, Pleasant. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant Wpm,an's Club, South Center Club, Porcelain Arts Club, West Side Mothers Club, Sardonys and Threttenes Bridge Club.

Surviving are her husband, Long Term Care Unit, Henry County Health Center; her mother, Mt. Pleasant; two sons, C. Tim, Winona, Minn., and Todd L., San Antonio, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Her father and one sister, Erma Pobanz, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ronald Kramer will officiate with in interment in Forest Home Cemetery.

Friends may call as they desire at the Weir Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Memorials have been established to the American Cancer Society or her church.
