Melvin McBeth

Melvin L. McBeth, 78, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 10:40 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 1994, at the Long Term Care Unit of Henry County Health Center, Saunders Park, Mt. Pleasant.

He was born Sept. 25, 1915, in Trenton Township of Henry County, the son of Wade L. and Bertha L. Scarff McBeth. On Sept. 14, 1935, he married Evelyn L. Johnson at Marengo, Iowa. She preceded him in death July 5, 1987.

He worked most of his life at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant.

Survivors include two sons, C. Timothy McBeth of Winona, Minn. and Todd L. McBeth of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren and one sister, Erma Scott of Mt. Pleasant.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call after noon Tuesday at the Weir Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 7-8"30 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Kim Crummer officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.

Memorials have been established to the First United Methodist Church or the Long Term Care Unite of the Henry County Health Center.
