Homer L. Jennings

Homer L. Jennings, 65, 405 S. Main, Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, May 7, 1980 in the Henry county Health Center. He was a former resident of Glasgow, moving to Mt. Pleasant in October 1979.

Mr. Jennings was the son of Ed and Bessie Black Jennings, born Sept. 1, 1914, near Mt. Pleasant. On Nov. 17, 1944, at Mt. Pleasant he was married to Bernice Farmer.

He was a retired farmer and a former employee of the I.A.A.P.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. John (Karen) Davis, Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Rebecca Metcalf, Fairfield, and Mrs. Nancy Harris, Mt. Pleasant; eight grandchildren; six brothers, Melvin, Ralph and John, all of Mt. Pleasant, Elmer, Fairfield. Donald, Pahrump, Nev., and Tom of Hillsboro; six sisters, Mrs. Leah Laue, Burlington, Mrs. Ina Cobourn, Mrs. Edith Bonser, Mrs. R. O. (Jesse) Welgert and Mrs. Russell (Ruth) Parker, all of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Kenneth (Evelyn) Miller, Hedrick.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Kathryn.

Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant, Saturday, May 10, at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Charles Sloca, Fairfield, will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.

A memorial has been established, and may be left at the Beatty Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant or at the church.

Friends may call as they desire after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
