MT. PLEASANT — Raymond Virgil Hester, 63, was fatally stricken while shoveling snow at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2.
He was the son of Andy and Clara Remick Hester, and was born March 1, 1915, at Lowell.. He married Ruth Lamm at Kahoka, Mo., in June of 1938; she died Dec. 18, 1941.
He was in the Army in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW at Mt. Pleasant and the DAV at Burlington. He lived with Warren and Ruth Messer.
Surviving: Brother Willie Hester of Burlington.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel in New London, Rev. Glen Richard; Forest Home cemetery. A Heart Fund memorial has been established.
