MT. PLEASANT - Mrs. Ruth Hester, 61, suffered a fatal heart attack at her home at 612 W. Monroe Thursday, April 29.
She was born near Mt. Pleasant July 6, 1920, to John P. and Edna Mae Turner Schrader. She married Clifford C. Messer Nov. 4, 1944, at Fairfield; he died in 1967. She later married Raymond Hester, who died Jan. 2, 1979.
She had worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Des Moines County Care Facility, Iowa Mental Health Institute and various nursing homes.
Surviving: Son Warren W. Messer, Mt. Pleasant; and sister Margaret Ackles, Trenton. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Weir Funeral Home; Forest Home Cemetery. A memorial for the Henry County Heart Fund has been established.
