Archie Haines

Services for Archie William Haines, 86, route 1, who died Tuesday morning at Nelson Nursing Home, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward Parker officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to the Heart Fund and Suburban Heights Baptist Church.

Haines was born Aug. 14, 1899, in Nebraska, the son of Johnathan Boss and Cornelia Allender Haines. He married Pansy Ernestine Rudd May 17, 1924. She died March 26, 1982. A farmer and DeKalb Seed corn dealer, Haines lived in Jefferson County since 1930. He attended Suburban Heights Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Edward A. and Ernest W., both of Fairfield; two daughters, Emma May Watson and Lola Evelyn Douglas, both of Lockridge; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Glen R. Haines of Winfield.

His parents, a daughter, two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
