Eleanor Fitch

Mrs. Eleanor J. Fitch, 69, RR5, Mt. Pleasant, died at 12:05 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 1991, at the Mapleleaf Healthcare Center where she had been a resident for the past week.

She was born Sept, 16, 1922, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Laurence Lampe and Edith Scarff Lampe. On April 15, 1946, in Iowa City, she married Morris E. Fitch, who died June 8, 1990.

Before retiring, she worked medical records at the Mental Health Institute. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Country Club, Women of the Moose and attended the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a brother, Larry Lampe, Urbandale; a sister, Frances Cain, Mt. Pleasant.

Also preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Leonard and Lester.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 16, at 10:30 a.m. at the Beatty Funeral Home. with the Rev. Carmen Lampe officiating. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home where visitation will begin after 10 a.m. that day. A memorial has been established to the University of Iowa Cancer Research.
