Morris O. Fitch

Morris E. Fitch, 68, Rt. 5, Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, June 8, 1990, at 8:12 p.m. at University Hospitals, Iowa City.

He was born April 9, 1922, in the White Oak Community, the son of Frank M. and Clarice Kleinhan Fitch. On April 15, 1946, in Iowa City, he married Eleanor Lampe.

He owned and operated Fitch Auto Body, retiring in 1984. Before that he was employed by Shafer Motors and McWhirter's.

He served during World War II in the 5th Air Force in the South Pacific.

Survivors include his wife; one brother, O. James Fitch, Pico Riveria, California; one sister, Mrs. Deloris Poss, Austelle, Ga.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and two sisters, June Schmidt and Mildred Rogers.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 12, at 10:30 a.m. at the Beatty-Wilkins Funeral Home with the Rev. Carmen Lampe officiating.

Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery with military rites by William L. Carpenter, Sr.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Monday, at the Beatty-Wilkins Funeral Home.

A memorial has been established to the University of Iowa cancer research.
