M. Farrell dies at 85

KEOSAUQUA --- Mamie M. Farrell, 85, of Keosauqua died Tuesday afternoon at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center where she had resided the past three years.

The daughter of John and Martha Burgess Sammons, she was born May 13, 1893 in Henry County. In 1913 she married Fred Messer who side in 1918. In 1924 she married Charles Farrell. He died in 1946. A Baptist, she lived most of her life in Henry County until moving to Keosauqua about 10 years ago.

Surviving are a sister, Bonnie Swailes of Keosauqua; two brothers, Ralph and Harry Sammons, both of Rome; several nieces and nephew.

Services will be Friday, 10 a.m., at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with the Rev. Harold Schnedler officiating. Burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery at Mount Pleasant.
