Charles W. Farrell, son of John and Harriett Foyle Farrell, was born April 5, 1884 at Woodburn, Ia., and passed from life at the Memorial hospital in Mt. Pleasant, at the age of 63 years.
He grew to manhood near Chariton and received his education in the public schools there. He was a member of the Catholic church in Chariton.
On October 1, 1925, at Galesburg, Ill., he was united in marriage with Mamie Messer of Rome. For a number of years he worked with W. M. Cummings, a road contractor and later settled on a farm southeast of Salem, where they have lived the past fifteen years.
He is survived by his wife, one brother, three sisters, many nieces and nephews and innumerable friends who mourn his passing.
His death is the third in his family within less than a year. One brother, John, preceded him in death by only a few weeks and a sister, Kate died last spring.
