Donald Ensminger

Donald "Bullet" Dean Ensminger, 70, of Mount Pleasant died Monday, July 18, 2011, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born Dec. 27, 1940, in Rome, he was the son of Frank and Marie Anderson Ensminger. On Sept. 18, 1965, he married Janet Elaine Hoover in Mount Pleasant.

Mr. Ensminger was a lifelong resident and farmer in the Mount Pleasant area and worked as a heavy equipment operator for Cessford Construction for more than 40 years. He attended school in the Mount Pleasant Community School District.

He played softball and basketball in his early years. He enjoyed time with family.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Elizabeth Fleagle of Wellman and Marsha Ensminger-Wandling of Hillsboro, Ore.; one son, Darin Ensminger of Mount Pleasant; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jack Ensminger and Wendell Ensminger, both of Lockridge, and Randy Ensminger of Mount Pleasant; and one sister, Janice Daniels of Chattanooga, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Friday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, where family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Ensminger will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Guy Sammons officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.

A memorial has been established.
