Willard Church

Willard Lee Church, 63, Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, Aug. 30, 1996, at his home.

He was born May 5, 1933, the son of Leo and Inez Oakley Church. On Oct 11, 1958, he married Dona Swailes in Mt. Pleasant. She preceded him in death on Sept. 27, 1992.

He was a construction worker until his retirement in 1971.

Survivors include one daughter, Candy Patterson of New London; a son, Jody Church of Mt. Pleasant; two grandchildren; four sisters, Iris Jump of Homer, Neb.; Glendora McCullick of Sioux City, Maxine Oates of Des Moines and Lola Butcher of Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one daughter, and six brothers and sisters.

Open visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends after the funeral service Thursday at New London United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at the chapel of Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, with Rev. Shirley Hoffmann of New London United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
