Ethel Case

Ethel M. Cash, 98, of Mount Pleasant died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at Park Place Living Term Care Center.

Born Oct. 30, 1910, in Henry county, she was the daughter of Gilbert F. and Susan Kinney Scarff. On Sept. 7, 1932, she married Lawrence Cash in Mount Pleasant.

Mrs. Cash worked at Hoaglin's 5 and 10 Store in Mount Pleasant for a short time. She and her husband lived in Elgin, Ill., for a few years before moving to the Pleasant Point area where they lived for 48 years on the farm and retired in1980 and moved to Mount Pleasant. She graduated from Oakland Mills School in 1928.

She was a member of the Oakland Mills Community Church, and the Oakland Mills Ladies Aid since 1934. She was a wonderful and like to play cards, crochet and sew.

Survivors include one daughter, Retha Miller of Kirksville, Mo.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five nieces and two nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one grandchild and three brothers.

The funeral for Mrs. Cash will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Activity Fund at Park Place.
