LAWRENCE J. CASH

Lawrence James Cash, 85, Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, June 17 at Pleasant Manor Care Center.

Born September 16, 1910 in Marion, Illinois, he was the son of Yeona and Della Travelstead Cash. On September 7, 1932, he was married in Mt. Pleasant to Ethel M. Scarff, who survives.

He farmed for 48 years south of Oakland Mills before retiring to Mt. Pleasant in 1980. He was a member of the Oakland Mills Community Church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Jaye (Retha) Miller of Kirksville, Adair County, Missouri; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, James R. Cash; three sisters, Mabel Sharpe, Carmen Hansen and Cynthia White and one grandchild.

Open visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19 at the Beatty Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 20 at the Beatty Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Young and the Rev. Henry Ledbetter officiating.

A memorial has been established to Oakland Mills Community Church.
