Robert W. Bonser

Mr. Robert W. Bonser, 76, 617 Lincoln St., Mt. Pleasant died Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 5:15 a.m. at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.

He was born Oct. 9, 1898, in Lee County, Iowa, the son of Robert and Cora Hicks Bonser.

On Aug. 6, 1922, at Mt. Pleasant, he was married to Edith Jennings.

Mr. Bonser was a retired worker for the CB&Q railroad and a member of the Rome Baptist Church.

He is survived by his widow; four sons, Jerry Bonser, Dixon, Calif., Joseph Bonser, Ward Bonser and Robert Bonser all of Fairfield, Calif.; and six daughters, Mrs. Homer Carpenter, and Mrs. Sam Wiles, both of Joliet, Ill., Mrs. LeRoy Kauffman, Dundee, Ill., Mrs. Robert Inglebright, Fairfield, Calif., Mrs. Ted Bruggemeyer, Des Moines and Mrs Ledru Beaber, Mt. Pleasant; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one brother, Lawrence Bonser, Loveland, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held from the Rome Baptist Church on Friday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Williams, pastor of the church, officiating.

Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery.

A memorial fund to the Rome Baptist Church has been established in memory of Mr. Bonser.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 at the Beatty Jennings Chapel in Mt. Pleasant.
