Edith Bonser

Edith Bonser, 85, 408 Baker, Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, March 17, 1991, at 6:30 p.m. at her home.

She wad born Nov. 16, 1905, in Henry County, the daughter of Ed and Myrtle Black Jennings. On Aug. 5, 1922, in Mt. Pleasant. She married Robert Ward Bonser, who preceded her in death Nov. 26, 1974.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Philathea Sunday School class.

Survivors include six daughters, Myrtle Carpenter, Wanda Beaber, and Mrs. Ted (Edee) Bruggemeyer, all of Mt. Pleasant; Hellen Kauffman, Dundee, Ill.; Judy Inglebright, Fairfield, Calif.; and Pattie Wiles, Shorewood. Ill.; four sons, Ward and Robert Bonser, Fairfield, Calif.; Jerry Bonser, Hillsboro; and Joe Bonser, DeBarry, Fla.; five brothers, Donald, Melvin, Ralph, Tom and John, all of Mt. Pleasant; and three sisters, Lea Lowe, Burlington; Jessie Weigert, Mt. Pleasant, and Evelyn Miller, Hedrick; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Homer and Elmer Jennings; three sisters, Ina Corbin, Ruth Parker and Catherine Jennings; and two grandsons, Tony Beaber and Ronnie Bonser.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 21, 1991, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev, Dr. Virgil Fry officiating. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Beatty Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. A memorial has been established to the First Baptist Church.
