Clifford Barr

Clifford (Bill) Barr, 68, of 110 1/2 W. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant, died about 9:10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 29. 1975.

He was born near Fairfield in Jefferson County, the son of Nelson P. and Cora May Losh Barr. On Oct. 18, 1970, he was married to Blanche Messer Byers at Kahoka, Mo.

Mr. Barr had lived the past 40 years in Henry County, operating a grocery store at Olds, and before retiring was employed at I.A.A.P.

Surviving are his wife; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Kent (Alma) Bennett and Mrs. James (Madeline) Swailes, both of Mt. Pleasant; five step-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Earl (Dorothy) Peterson, Burlington; brother, Earl Barr of Lockridge; Half sister, Orvilla Barr, Mt. Pleasant; stepmother, Mrs. Alice Barr, Mt. Pleasant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepdaughter, Joyce Deck, two brothers, Harold and Clarence, infant sister and half brother Bernard Paul.

Funeral services will be held from the St. Michael's Episcopal Church on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Father Robert L. Matheus officiating. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery.

The Mt. Pleasant Masonic Lodge #8 will have Masonic Services Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, which the public is invited to attend. Friends may call as they desire after 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home where a memorial has been established.
