Edna Arnold

Mrs. Clayton (Edna) Arnold, 71, 1007 W. Saunders St., Mt. Pleasant, died at 10:41 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 1987, at the Burlington Medical Center.

She was born Jan, 19, 1916, at Memphis, Mo., the daughter of James and Dolly Barr Osbon. On August 8, 1932, at Memphis, Mo., she married Clayton A. (Slim) Arnold, who survives.

Mrs. Arnold had worked for the Midwest Biscuit Co., the I.A.A.P. at Burlington, at the Glove Factory in New London, Millspaugh Nursing Home, and had cooked and kept house for several sororities and presidents at Iowa Wesleyan College. She also had operated a ceramics shop in her home.

Surviving are her husband; one son, James G., Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Vada Graber, Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Wesley (Ila) Allender, rural Mt. Pleasant; 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one half brother, Everett Waterbury, Greentop, Mo; and one sister, Mrs, Paul (Lucille) Newland, Hannibal, Mo.

Her parents, two sons, Roger C. and David L., one brother, Eugene Osbon,and one half sister, Anna Mae Aldridge, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at the Weir Funeral Home. The Rev. Ronald Kramer will officiate with interment in the family plot in the Forest Home Cemetery. Friends may call as they desire beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday at Weir Funeral Home where the family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. A memorial has been established for the Henry County Senior Citizens Center,
