Mrs. Mattie Anderson

MT. PLEASANT — Mrs. Mattie Amanda Anderson, 85, of 308 S. Jackson, Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, Aug. 20, at noon in Pleasant Manor Care Center here where she had been a resident the past six weeks.

She was born March 10, 1891, at Petersburg, Neb., the daughter of Isaac M. and Adeline Barber Orendorff. Dec. 4, 1910, she married Lee E. Anderson in Hamilton county, Neb. He died March 3, 1963.

She was a member of the First United Methodist church, Daughter of Union Veterans, Order of Eastern Star and White Shrine.

Surviving: Two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Hazel) Johnson, Winfield, Alma Kerr, East Moline, Ill.; four sons, Glenn, Milan, Ill., William C. and Donald, both of Mt. Pleasant, Warren K., Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Jeffers, Salem, Ore., Mrs. Aletha Ray, Sedalia, Mo.; one brother, Eldon, Westminister, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday, Beatty-Jennings Chapel, Mt. Pleasant, Dr. Robert P. Robinson; Forest Home cemetery. A memorial to the American Cancer Society has been established.
