His body was found about 6 p. m. Tuesday in the attic of the one-story house. He had taken a rifle, climbed a ladder, crawled through the small opening in the ceiling into the attic and there discharged the rifle bullet into his head.

He is survived by his wife, by two children, Merritt, Mt. Pleasant high school student and Marilyn employed by an air lines company in Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Bertha McBeth, Mt. Pleasant, and six bothers, Homer, Harry, Leslie, Edwin, Lawrence and Maurice.

Coroner R. K. Crane was called to make an investigation, but no inquest will be held.
