Lottie M. Sammons

Mrs. Lottie May Sammons, 87, 1001 N, Lincoln, Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, April 10, 1985, at 11:35 p.m. at her home.

She was born Dec. 11, 1985, at Rome, the daughter of Joseph and Alice Collins Messer. On Dec, 22, 1915, at Mt. Pleasant, she married Clem Sammons who died Sept. 5, 1957.

Mrs. Sammons was a member of the Rome Baptist Church.

Surviving are four sons, Virgil, Oral, Clem Jr. and Gerald, all of Mt. Pleasant; four daughters, Mrs. Gilbert (Cecil) Milks and Mrs. Robert (Esther) Rouse, both of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Claran (Hazel) Garrison, New London, and Mrs. Kenneth (Wanda) Gill, Fairfield; 30 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; five brothers, Allen, Cairo, MO.; Max, Farmington; Basil, Fairfield; Noel, Moline, Ill.; and Ralph, Mt. Pleasant; two sisters Mrs, Dorothy Palliser, Farmington, and Mrs. Ruby Adams, Olds.

Her parents, one daughter, Dorothy, and one sister, Ethel, and a granddaughter preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13, at 2 p.m. at the Beatty Funeral Home. The Rev, Earl Swigart, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, will officiate with interment in the White Oak Cemetery.

Friends may call as they desire after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established.
