Clem A. Sammons Dies Unexpectedly

Services for Mr. C A. Sammons will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the Crane Funeral Home with the Rev. James Troxel, pastor of First Baptist church officiating. Interment will be in White Oak cemetery.

Clem A. Sammons, 70, died suddenly Thursday morning while mowing his lawn at his home on North Lincoln at. He apparently suffered a heat attack.

He was the son of Richard and Adela (Whipple) Sammons. He was born Feb. 4, 1887 in Henry county near Rome. Mr. Sammons had been a resident of Mt. Pleasant for the past 25 years, working for the C. B. and Q. railroad.

He was married Dec. 22, 1915 to Lottie Messer. They were the parents of nine children. The widow and eight of the children survive. They are: Virgil, Oral, Junior, Gerald, Mrs. Gilbert Milks, and Mrs. Robert Roush, all of Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Claran Garrison of Burlington, and Mrs Kenneth Gill of Fairfield.

Also surviving are 23 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Luther Christner of Lockridge; and one brother, Alva Sammons of Rome.
