Milo Messer Gun Victim

Milo L. Messer, 50, died at his home at Glasgow about 3:30 p.m. Saturday as a result of a self inflicted gunshot wound.

He was the son of Sheridan and Nora McMillan Messer Sr. and was born February 8, 1919 in Henry County. He resided the past 27 years in Glasgow.

On May 30, 1941 at Kahoka Mo. he was married to Gertrude Douglas who survives. Also surviving are three sons and one daughter, Larry and Terry of Lockridge and Michael and Christine at home.

One sister, Mrs. Warren Stiefel of Mt. Pleasant, Rural, two brothers, Dwight Messer of Des Moines and Joe Messer of Illinois. Two half sisters, Mrs. Jesse Scarff of Wyoming and Mrs. Ralph Sammons, of Rome and three half brothers, Virgil Vaughn of California, Harold Vaughn of Illinois and Sheridan Messer of Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 11th at 2 p.m. at the Crane, Ewart, Young Funeral Home. Rev. Forrest G. Hayes, Pastor of the White Oak United Missionary Church will officiate. Interment will be in the White Oak Cemetery.
