Frank M. Fitch

Frank M. Fitch, 77, 219 E. Monroe, died at Henry County Memorial Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, at 7:31 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 1973.

He was born July 3, 1896, in the White Oak area near Rome, the son of Hiram Oscar and Laura Ellen Scarff Fitch.

On Jan. 29, 1920, he was married to Clarice Erma Klinehan in Mt. Pleasant.

Mr. Fitch, a retired farmer, was formerly employed at the Mental Health Institute. He was a member of the American Legion and served in World War I with the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his widow; two sons, James O. of St. Louis, Mo., and Morrie E. of Mt. Pleasant.; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Rogers of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Deloris Corley of Atlanta, Ga.; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Leo (Vera) Messer, Mt. Pleasant rural.

One daughter, four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan 3, at the Weir-Cookes Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Nicholson with officiate with interment in White Oak Cemetery in Rome.

Friends may call at the funeral home as they desire.
