Clarice E. Fitch

Mrs. Frank (Clarice) Fitch, 78, 219 E. Monroe, Mt. Pleasant, died early Saturday, May 14, 1983, at her home.

She was born on Aug. 12, 1904, in Jefferson County, the daughter of George and Nellie O'Grady Kleinhan. On Jan 29, 1920, in Mt. Pleasant, she married Frank M. Fitch, who died Dec. 31, 1973.

Mrs. Fitch worked at the Whaley Nursing Home and the Mental Health Institute in Mt. Pleasant for several years. She was a member of the White Oak Missionary Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sons, James O., Pico Rivera, Calif., and Morris E. Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Rogers, Mt. Pleasant, and Delois Poss, Mapleton, Ga.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one half brother Glen Kleinhan, Geneva, Fla.; one half sister, Francis Driscoll, Winterset.

Her parents, husband, one daughter, June, and four sisters, Ferne Rensch, Cecil Parmley, Hazel Hilgartner and Margaret Bice, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, at the Weir Funeral Home. The Rev. George White of the First United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in White Oak Cemetery north of Rome.

Friends may call as they desire after 3 p.m. Monday, May 16, at the funeral home. A memorial has been established for the White Oak Cemetery.
