Minnie Fields

MT. PLEASANT --- Mrs. Minnie Field, 94, a resident of the long-term care unit of Henry County Health Center, died at 8:40 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at the health center.

She was born April 26, 1891, in Jefferson County, to David P. and Florence Schiermer Hill. On Dec. 8, 1908, at Mt. Pleasant, she married Chauncey M. Fields; he died Oct. 11, 1955.

She worked at IAAP, Middletown; at the Doughboy restaurant at Fairfield and for 11 years at the turner Hotel, Fairfield. She attended the Rome Baptist Church and the Fairfield Nazarene Church.

Surviving: Two daughters, Mrs. Keith (Hazel) Ireland, Texarkana, Texas, and Mrs. Carlos (Mildred) McClure, Mt. Pleasant; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday, Weir Funeral Home, the Rev. Alfred Dietz; White Oak Cemetery north of Rome. A memorial has been established for the White Oak Missionary Church.
