Wednesday, 12 October 1955Chauncey Fields Taken By Death
Chauncey Mathew Fields, 67, died unexpectedly at his home at 616 West Stone street, Fairfield, Tuesday afternoon. He apparently suffered a heart attack.
The son of Jess and Florence (Messer) Fields, he was born April 4, 1888 in Henry county where he lived until three years ago. He was engaged in farming most of his life.
On Dec. 2, 1908, he was married to Minnie Hill of Mt. Pleasant. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Carlos McClure, Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Keith Ireland, Texarkana, Tex., 11 grandchildren and by two brothers and a sister residing in California.
Services will be held at White Oak church Thursday afternoon at 2:30. The Rev. Walter Gray will officiate. Interment will be at the White Oak cemetery. The body will be at Cramer Funeral Home until shortly before time for the services Thursday.
