Howard P. Ensminger

Howard P. Ensminger, 81, Rome, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1981, at the Henry County Health Center.

Born March 11, 1900, near the White Oak area in Henry County, he was the son of Peter E. and Fannie Roth Ensminger. On June 7, 1924, at Mt Pleasant, he married L. Mae Scarff, who survives.

Mr. Ensminger farmed near Rome and Glasgow until 1940. He had worked at I.A.A.P. in Burlington, for 23 years, retiring in 1962. He was of the Protestant faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Kenneth, Mt. Pleasant; one daughter, Mrs. Gayle (Lela) Ranard. Fairfield; three brothers, Homer, Mt. Pleasant; George and Frank, Rome; one sister, Mrs. Willis (Ina) Anderson, Rome; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

His parents, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Rome Baptist Church. The Rev. Lester Smith will officiate with interment in the White Oak Cemetery.

Friends may call as they desire after noon Friday at the Weir Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday evening. A memorial has been established for the Rome Baptist Church.
