G. Jeane Woodside, 59, of Wapello and formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died 2:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 30, 1988, at University Hospitals, Iowa City.
She was born Feb. 17, 1929, in Rome, the daughter of James A. and Minnie E. Messer White. April 28, 1946, in Piggott, Ark., she married Lester Lampe. Feb. 4, 1971, in Oquakwa, Ill., she married J. Robert Woodside.
She had worked at Shaeffer Pen Co., Mt. Pleasant, several years; Arion Restaurant, Burlington; The Hawks Nest, Wapello; and at IAAP, Burlington, for seven years. She was a member of Rome Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas W. Lampe, Burlington, and Ted H. Lampe, Phoenix, Ariz.; and three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Teresa) Hill, Burlington; Carman J. Lampe, Mt. Ayr; and Mrs. Richie (Sheryl) Roberts, Boulder, Colo.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, and three sisters, Mrs. Floyd (Gladys) Sammons, Rome; Mrs. Van (Roma) Crew, Mt. Pleasant; and Mrs. Donald (Betty) Grimm, Cheyenne, Wyo.
Her parents; one brother, Keith White; and two sisters, Marie White and Gertrude Schmidt, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 2 at the Weir Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, with Carman Lampe officiating. Interment will be in Grant Cemetery, Rome.
Friends may call to sign the register beginning noon Saturday at the funeral home where memorials have been established to the Henry County Cancer Fund or the Rome Baptist Church.
