Iliff Smith

Iliff Smith, 80, 309 N. White, Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, April 18, 1986, in Mt. Pleasant.

He was born Jan. 26, 1906, at Mt. Pleasant, the son of John M. and Edith Jay Smith. He was married Nov. 26, 1937, to Ella Mae Watson.

Mr. Smith was a member of the Salem congregational Church and was a former co-owner of the Smith Market in Salem. He had retired from the Henry County Maintenance Department.

Surviving are his wife; two sons John A. Burlington, and Raymond L., Gillette, Wyo.; two brothers, Lester and Leo, both of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Blanche Loeffler, Cedar Rapids; and five grandchildren.

His parents, one son, and three sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 26, at 2 p.m. at the Beatty-Wilkins funeral Home. The Rev. Limford Edwards and Wendell Dodds officiated with interment in Richwoods Cemetery.

A memorial was established for the American Cancer Society.
