----------Charles H. Haines, 84, died at the county home Friday evening after an extended illness. He suffered a stroke five years ago and did not recover from the effects of it.
The son of Samuel and Eliza (Messer) Haines, he was born March 7, 1869 in Henry county and had been a lifelong resident of the county. He was engaged in farming near Merrimac for many years.
He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Mattie A. Lane, Burbank, Calif., Mrs. C. E. Graf, Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Roy Olinger of Milton, also by several nephews and nieces.
Services will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the Crane Funeral Home. Interment Richwoods cemetery.
