8 June 1966Mrs. George Fickel Taken By Death
Mrs. Cornelia Gholson Fickel, 81, died at Mt. Pleasant at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday. She was born October 30, 1884 in Henry county, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Gholson.
On September 7, 1903 she was married in Henry county to George E. Fickel, who preceded her in death April 10, 1965.
Mrs. Fickel had resided in Rome for 41 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. LeeRoy Scarff; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Albert (Viola) Anderson of Los Angeles. Calif., Mrs. Harry (Myrtle) Allender of Auburn, Calif., Mrs. Harvey (Pearl) Morrow of Mt. Pleasant, Samuel of Mt. Pleasant, Joseph of Auburn, Cailf., Omer of Bloomfield, and George of Rome, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Weir-Cookes Funeral Home Friday June 10, at 2 p.m. Rev. James Troxel will officiate.
Interment will be in Richwood cemetery
Friends may call at the Weir-Cookes Funeral Home as they desire.
