Mary E. Lane

Mary E. Lane, 74, Richwoods community northwest of Mt. Pleasant died at 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999, at Parkview Care Center, Wayland.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at Weir Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant. Burial will be in Richwoods Cemetery, northwest of Mt. Pleasant. Visitation will be from noon to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10 at Weir Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant. Memorials have been established to Richwoods Cemetery or Trenton Methodist Church.

Mrs. Lane was born March 13, 1925, in Lee County, the daughter of Allen and Frances Cooper McDowell. She married Warren E. Lane on August 7, 1946, at Colorado. She graduated from Salem High School in 1943 and worked for Emerson Electric, Mt. Pleasant. After Emerson's sold to Motorola, she worked for Motorola until retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Trenton Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, Trenton.

Survivors include one son, William G. "Bill" Lane of Danville; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband.
