John Lewis Lane, son of John and Iva Bates Lane, was born at their home northwest of Mt. Pleasant, on March 22, 1927, and went to be at home with the Lord June 2, 1946, at the age of 19 years, 2 months and 11 days. Although being bodily afflicted for a number of years, Johnny always had a cheerful smile and was a great lover of home and home folk. He will be sadly missed in the family circle and entire community. He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Oliver, November 4, 1936. He leaves to mourn his passing his parents, one brother, Warren, two sisters, Virginia Sommerfeld, and Phyllis Klopfenstein, his grandmothers, one nephew, Richard Sommerfeld, and many other relatives and friends.
Rev. James Hoskins was the minister in charge. The pallbearers were Carlos and Robert McClure, Glen and Merritt Scarff, Billy Swailes and R. Smith. Interment was at Richwoods cemetery.
