Nora Hoover

BETTENDORF --- Services for Nora I. Hoover, 81, of 25oo Grant St., will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Alphonsus Church, Mount Pleasant. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Mount Pleasant.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at Weerts Funeral Home. Davenport. Additional visitation will be 9 a.m. Monday at Beatty Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant.

Mrs. Hoover died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1997, at Iowa Masonic Nursing Home, Bettendorf.

She retired in 1978 after 29 years of clerical work at Rock Island Arsenal.

Mora McMurren was born Feb. 22, 1915, in Rome, Iowa. She married Henry Hoover in 1934 in Mount Pleasant. He died in 1946.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related disorders Association or Iowa Masonic Nursing Home.

Survivors include her daughters, Joan Wallace, Lexington, N.C., Patricia Niebuhr, Walcott, Iowa, and Myrtle Nelson, Detroit; sons, John "Sonny" and Stuart "Bud," both of Davenport; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
