David Woodsmall

David Ray Woodsmall, 51, of Salem died Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born July 20, 1957, in Burlington, he was the son of Robert E. and Anna Marie Bollinger Woodsmall. On March 7, 1991, he married Sharon Barber in Mount Pleasant.

Mr. Woodsmall was a trucker driver for several local companies.

He enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include his mother of Salem; his wife; four children, Jacob and Lucas Woodsmall, both of Burlington, and Nichols Barber and Sawyer Woodsmall, both of Salem; three grandchildren; three brothers, Roger Woodsmall of Morning Sun, William Woodsmall of Tiffin, Ohio, and Roy Woodsmall of Columbus Junction; and one sister, Roberta "Bobi" Stevens of Salem.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Woodsmall will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Salem Friends Church in Salem, with the Rev. Nathan Martin officiating. Burial will be in Salem East Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.

Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant is in charge of arrangements.
