Milo Thompson

Milo Chester Thompson, 96, of the Pleasant Manor Care Center, Mount Pleasant, formerly of Salem, died Monday, Oct. 2, 1989, at the Henry County Health Center, Mount Pleasant.

Born Jan. 8, 1893, in Salem, he was the son of Charles and Martha McMasters Thompson. He married Pauline Collatt Oct. 12, 1922, in Salem. She died Nov. 11, 1973.

He was a charter member of the Simkin-Pidgeon American Legion Post, Salem. He served with the Rainbow Division in Germany and France during World War I. He was a farmer before retiring.

Surviving are two sons, Richard Thompson, Salem, and John Thompson, Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Eleanor Thompson, Mount Pleasant; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Beatty-Wilkins Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant.

The service for Mr. Thompson will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Beatty-Wilkins Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Tim Smart officiating. Burial will be in Salem East Cemetery.
