Dale Barnett, 79, of Salem and Mount Pleasant, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at New London Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born March 8, 1927, in Bonaparte, he was the son of James and Elsie Poole Barnett.
Mr. Barnett worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown, drove a Head Start bus for a few years, had an Iowa Parcel route and worked in food service at the Henry County home.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Barnett of Palmyra, Tenn., and Tom Barnett of Clarksville, Tenn.; one daughter, Robin Snyder of Nevada, Iowa; one stepson, Mike Stone of Davenport; one stepdaughter, Lisa Elmore of Waynesville, Mo.; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson and one brother.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home with the family present, one hour prior to the service.
The funeral for Mr. Barnett will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Dorsey officiating. Burial will be in Salem East Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
