John Dale Ensminger

John Dale Ensminger, 65, died Thursday at 10:30 p.m. at the Henry County Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for four months.

The son of Chris and Martha Scarff Ensminger, he was born March 19, 1903, in Henry county. On Nov. 29, 1929, at Memphis, Mo., he married Oma F. Puckett, who predeceased him Nov. 11, 1957.

Mr. Ensminger had lived in Winfield since 1945 and had operated a produce business there for a number of years. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Woline of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Richard (Karen Sue) Heither of Columbus Junction; three step children, Robert and Dale Hoadley of Yreka, Calif., and Mrs. Maxine Howard of Phoenix, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren and our great-grandchildren; three brothers, Iliff and Edward, both of Bloomfield and Henry of Ottumwa; two sisters, Mrs. Sue Whirrett of Pulaski and Mrs. Mabel Vanderlinden of Williamsburg.

He was predeceased by his parents and one sister, Helen Matt.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian church in Winfield with Rev. Harold Hurt Officiating.

Interment will be in the Winfield-Scott Township cemetery.

Friends may call as they desire at the Barton-McKasson Funeral Home.

The family will meet friends Sunday evening from 7 til 8:30.
