Mrs. Pearl Messer dies Tuesday night

SWEDESBURG --- Mrs. Pearl Viola Messer, 65, who lived near here, died Tuesday evening, Dec. 5, 1972 at Henry county Memorial Hospital in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the United church of Christ in Olds with the Rev. Noel Orchutt in charge. Burial will be in Olds Cemetery. The body is at Barton-McKasson funeral Home in Winfield.

Mrs. Messer was born June 16, 1907 in Jefferson county to Sherman and Ella Sheppard Haifly. She married Lawrence Messer Jan. 3, 1925 at Fairfield.

She is survived by her husband, three daughter, Mrs. Fern Howell of Columbus Junction, Mrs. Wanda Schultz of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Bernice Lee of Winfield, one son, Charles of Winfield, 16 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and seven sisters.
