DIED

At her home two miles southwest of Rome occurred the death of Mrs. Genius White, Friday afternoon the 2nd inst. For many years she had been a sufferer from ill health which resulted in her mind weakening under the long physical strain and death came to her relief. Mrs. White was born about 67 years ago in Indiana and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Grant. She was married to Genius White more than 40 years ago and he with three children are left to survive her, also her aged mother who is 89 years old.

Mr. and Mrs. White are pioneers of Henry Co., having lived in this township since 1853. They are highly esteemed by a large circle of friends and the death of Mrs. White is deeply deplored. The funeral service was held on Sunday at the family home and was attended by a large company of friends. Rev. Johnathan Lee preached the funeral sermon. The burial took place at Pleasant Point, Rome, Iowa, Dec. 6th, 1892.
