Thelma "Pat" D. Ledbetter, 71, of Mount Pleasant died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Born Aug. 20, 1938, in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Don R. and Lucille N. Schroeder Myers. In 1960, she married Delmar K. Messer. On April 7, 1990, she married John Ledbetter.
Mrs. Ledbetter worked at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant. She enjoyed genealogy, her pets and collecting salt and pepper shakers, coins and Santa Clauses.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Randy Messer of Norwalk; one daughter, Deb Messer of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three grandchildren; one sister, Helen Miller of Summerfield, S.C.; and one brother, Don Myers of Winfield.
She was preceded in death by her first husband and her parents.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.
The funeral for Mrs. Ledbetter will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Murphy Funeral Home with the Rev. Herbert Shafer officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Mount Pleasant.
A memorial has been established for Henry County Animal Rescue.
