Funeral services of Mrs. Loren Peterson were held Wednesday at two o'clock at the White Oak church. The services were in charge of Rev. J. K. Myers. A quartet, Mrs. J. K. Myers, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hinkle and Wade McBeth sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," "Pearly White City," "In The Garden" and "In The Land Where We Never Grow Old." The church was filled and many stood outside. Friends and neighbors gathered to pay their last respects for this young mother. Many beautiful flowers covered the casket which was carried to its last resting place by the following pall bearers: Virgil Lane, Herry Messer, Leslie Swailes, Sherman Mills, Arthur McMurren and Harry Hood.

Vera Marguerite (McClure) Peterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McClure, was born Oct. 5, 1911, on a farm near Rome, Iowa, and departed this life March 17, 1935, at the age of 23 years, 5 months and 12 days. On June 4, 1932, she was united in marriage to Loren E. Peterson and to this union two children were born: Alden Eugene, 2 years old, and an infant daughter, who preceded her mother in death 12 days. Besides her husband and little son, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McClure, of Rome, Iowa, two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Swailes and Mrs. Alice Smith of Mt. Pleasant; three brothers, Carlos, Donald and Robert McClure of Rome; her father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Peterson, three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law; three nieces and three nephews.
