Russell V. Guinn

Russell V. Guinn, 69, Route 4, Mt. Pleasant, died Jan. 9, 1985, in Phoenix, Ariz. He was born Sept. 23, 1915 in Pulaski, the fourth son of Isaac and Grace Guinn.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Guinn, Route 4, Mt. Pleasant; three daughters, Joy Gilleard, Phoenix, Ariz.; Judy Hoer, Ladonia, Mo.; and Donna Fillinger, Lockridge; four sons, Tom Guinn, Beaver Falls, Pa.; Kent Thomson and Roger Thomson, Mt. Pleasant; and Monty Thomson, U.S. Air Force, stationed in Kunsan, South Korea; 12 grandchildren, seven brothers and four sisters.

His parents, two brothers and one son preceded him in death.

Mr. Guinn was a veteran of World War II, having served in the European theater. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant. He was employed by Hassenfitz, Inc., for 17 years prior to his retirement.

According to his wishes, the body has been donated to the University of Iowa. Memorial services are pending at the First United Methodist Church for Jan. 12 at 2 p.m.

Memorials will be established for the American Cancer Society and the Henry County Heart Association.
