Donald M. Carver

MT. PLEASANT - Donald M. Carver, 54, Mt. Pleasant Rt. 3, died in University Hospitals, Iowa City, Friday, Nov. 22.

He was born Sept. 13, 1931, near Lockridge, to Frank and D. Bernice Smith Carver, He married Dorothy Verlee Barr June 19, 1953, in the Greenmound Church.

Mr. Carver worked for the city of Mt. Pleasant and for more than 25 years was a plasterer for Mickey and Son Co. He served in the 224th Engineer Battalion, Iowa National Guard, for six years. He was a member of the Church of the Open Bible.

Surviving: The wife; his father, Frank Carver, rural Mt. Pleasant; three sons, Keith, Salem, and Mark and Randy, both of Mt. Pleasant; daughter Tressa White, Mt. Pleasant rural; two brothers, Kenneth Carver, Wayland rural, and Arnold Carver, Mt. Pleasant rural; four sisters, Bertha Thrasher and Elizabeth Koch, both of Spokane, Wash., Barbara Cutts, Hamilton, Ill., and Beatrice Hummell, Mt. Pleasant rural; and six grandchildren.

Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Church of the Open bible, the Rev. Mark Matthews; Lambirth Cemetery, southwest of Rome. Memorials have been established at the Weir Funeral Home for the Church of the Open Bible and Lambirth Cemetery Association.
